Dry suit



The magic of the underwater world also works in cold waters. If you want to dive in autumn, winter in our latitudes or in even colder waters, you will be tempted to wear a suitable wetsuit. Diving in a dry suit is a very different diving technique than diving in a classic wet suit.

The DRY SUIT DIVING speciality course teaches you the techniques for these dives. At the end of this programme, you will obtain the DRY SUIT DIVING specialty certification.

1. Practical information:

Organisation:

The DRY SUIT DIVING specialty program is intended for divers certified OPEN WATER DIVER or CMAS 2*. The theory is learned online at home and reviewed in class. The whole theoretical and practical training is done in 2 sessions of 3h30, in the pool and in the open water. All the lessons of the course must be followed.

Price:

The price for this course is 220 € per person to be paid at the time of online registration. It includes :

  •     access to the digital theory course
  •     the theory review sessions and the written exam
  •     practical training
  •     equipment (dry suit, tank, stabilizing jacket, regulator)
  •     the DRY SUIT DIVING digital certification card
  •     a €100 voucher to be used towards the purchase of a new drysuit in our shop

Equipment :

Equipment provided as part of the course: dry suit, tank, regulators, stabilizing jacket.
For the rest, you are asked to bring your own equipment or to buy it before the first lesson.
The team in our shop will advise you on quality equipment at attractive prices. Advantages for the students: free test of the mask in real conditions, discounts, free dives.

2. Summary of the procedure:
Participating in a scuba diving course cannot be improvised. A few steps are necessary to prepare you as well as possible:

    1. register for the course
    2. create an SSI profile and sign the documents
    3. consult a physician > medical certificate
    4. prepare the online theory

Register for the course:
To register to this course, please, take contact with us from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm on +32 (0)2 333 38 36 or by e-mail at aca@nemo33.com.

SSI Profile: Upon registering for the course, it is imperative that you create your SSI profile.
⚠️ It is mandatory to fill in all fields and to attach a photo in "identity" format. Without a complete profile, SSI will not be able to issue your certificate.

Documents:
On your SSI account under your name, click on "Personal data" and on "Documents". Then you read and sign the responsible diver code.

Online theory:
Once these documents have been checked by us, you can start your training: in the "Training" tab click on "courses", then choose DRY SUIT DIVING.

Medical certificate:
To follow diving courses in Belgium, a medical examination is mandatory. Before starting the course, you will have to present the instructor with a medical certificate of fitness to dive, valid for a maximum of 1 year. For this, you will consult a doctor BEFORE participating in the course. When you are certified, this medical certificate will be required in most diving centres in Belgium and abroad.

Once completed by your doctor, your certificate should be uploaded to your profile. Go to "Personal data", then "Documents".

! Without a valid medical certificate you will not be able to participate in the course.

3. The 1st day of the course:
Please bring :

  1. the medical certificate to be given to the instructor or uploaded in your profile
  2. a swimming costume and a towel
  3. your personal diving equipment (at least fins, masks, weights belts and computer)
  4. a notepad and a pen
  5. a 50 cent coin for the locker in the changing room

4. Cancellation

  • NEMO33 reserves the right to cancel a course at least two days before the beginning of the course if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
  • In the event of illness or accident, you may cancel your registration upon presentation of a medical certificate of incapacity. After recovery, you will be re-registered for one of the following courses.
  • For other reasons, you may postpone your participation, provided that you do so at least 15 days before the start of the course.
  • If you cancel your participation, the SSI course fee remains due (50 €). You retain access to the online course.
  • Once the course has started, you must follow all lessons. In the event of absence and necessary refresher courses, catch-up class are charged at 35 €/hour/person.
